HITECHPR: Looks like you have the wrong impression. We have a 2nd version of the remote access tool which is like LoginMeIn123 Rescue that is not linked to the platform.

We will be re-visiting this at some point to remove the need to install the application.

Robin: Can you please provide more information? I am aware of the other (Blue) one. For security reasons I would not allow my users to install/use a remote access application with out elevated privileges. What would stop that user from taking that application offsite and use it to remote access their own onsite device? Unless it is the opposite of that scenario. For example: A home user needs assistance and needs to install a remote access app to request assistance. That I understand, but the home user most likely already has elevated privileges on that home device. And in that case there would be no need to be able to install without elevated privileges. I guess it could be solved if there was a way to block that version of the app on devices registered in the platform. Or maybe I am over-worrying .

HITECHPR: The blue version of our remote control requires that the application is installed on the device you want to connect to.

Once installed, upon running it your given a device ID and password that you need to gain access to it.

From memory, after you have entered these details you then need to click the accept button on the device your connecting to, so there should be plenty of protection to stop this being abused as such.

Robin: A bit confused...is it installed or just run without admin permissions? And if just run, is it logged and or auditable?

HITECHPR: The blue version is currently installed, and the plan later on it to remove that need.

This blue version does not link or communicate with out Endpoint Manager system in anyway.
